On March 31, 2024, two juvenile suspects were being pursued in regards to a stolen motor vehicle which had originated on Boy Scout Road. The vehicle pursuit eventually ended on Lake Forrest Drive and the two juvenile suspects fled on foot. David Dunagan was made aware of the situation after speaking to one of the deputy’s on scene and immediately made a post in the neighborhood Facebook group. Approximately 45 minutes later a citizen who was part of the Facebook group called to say that he saw two young men matching the description of the juvenile suspects and they were walking eastbound on Wheeler Road. David Dunagan and Lee Blitch were close by, so they drove to the last known location of the juveniles and searched the area. David Dunagan and Lee Blitch located the two juveniles and confirmed they matched the description of the suspects, so David Dunagan immediately notified dispatch. David Dunagan and Lee Blitch then observed the two juveniles from a safe distance and waited for units to respond. David Dunagan and Lee Blitch communicated directly with the units who arrived on scene to give them an up-to-date location of the two juvenile suspects. The two juveniles fled on foot and after a short foot pursuit one of the juvenile suspects was caught and placed into custody.
